Set Time

date <newdatetimestring>

<newdatatimestring> =

  • nn two digit month between 01 to 12
  • dd two digit day between 01 to 31
  • hh two digit hour using 24-hour clock, between 00 to 23
  • mm two digit minutes between 00 to 59
  • yyyy it can be two or four digit year
  • .ss two digit seconds with a period before the digits

So for a date/time of October 14, 2009, 08:44:00 it would look like this:

date 101408442009.00


Change Time Zone

tzconfig

This command guides you through the configuration. If it doesn't work beause it's not installed then use this command:

tzselect
